Meet Bonnie
Bonnie Hamilton is Director of Retail at Washington Golf and Country Club in Arlington, Virginia. Her golf shop has been recognized as Section Merchandiser of the Year by PGA of America as well as an annual award-winner by the Association of Golf Merchandisers. Bonnie has been on the forefront of golf fashion supporting new designers and blurring the lines between on-course apparel, athleisure and streetwear. Bonnie’s sense of style began in New York City and Boston managing Bloomingdale’s men’s department. Recruited by Perry Ellis, she became his national sales manager. As she began playing golf, Bonnie saw an opportunity to bring fashion to the course. So, she launched ProLook Golf, a merchandise consulting group that transformed shops into “mini boutiques” that turned a profit. When asked why she carries joggers and other clothes that don’t comply with her private club’s dress code, she replies: “Why not, if it sells. I want to carry a variety of apparel and be the first stop on a shopper’s journey. I also see golf clothes as a hook to attract a younger generation to the game.” Bonnie is a frequent contributor to PGA Magazine. Her motto: Look good, play good.
